Menominee River Float Trips
Float Trip starts at 11:00 AM

We meet at the Town of Wausaukee Boat Landing and float down the Menominee River to Bear Point.

Bring your own flotation device. All ages are welcome but an adult must accompany children under the age of 18. Life jackets are a state law requirement!

Party to follow at Bear Point Yacht Club at 3:00 PM. You may bring a dish to pass if you wish.

The Bear Point Yacht Club and Motel is a very friendly tavern and motel located in northeast Wisconsin on the Menominee River. Good people and good times are a longstanding tradition here, no matter what the season.

In the summer, enjoy a drink on the deck overlooking the river, do some fishing, canoeing, or enjoy our annual tube float, where we float down the river on inner tubes and make a day of it. The Menominee River has wild and scenic shorelines, and is great for canoeing or any type of boating. Don't tell anyone, but the fishing here is great with huge bass, walleye, northern, and musky, as well as the abundant Panfish.

Float Trip Highlights - July 2008

Fall brings deer hunting season, and both gun and bow hunters stop in to show off their trophies, share a few stories, and enjoy some good company. The Menominee River is also one of the few places with a hook and line fishing season for sturgeon, the biggest fish around. Turkey hunting is growing in popularity as are grouse and the other fall hunting seasons.

Winter brings snowmobiling, one of our favorite seasons. The Bear Point has a longstanding tradition of being a must hit trail stop for snowmobilers, and snowmobiling is spoken 365 days a year here!

When the day is over and the memories are yours to keep forever, you can walk across the street to our comfortable 7 unit motel for a good night's sleep. These clean comfortable units are very affordable, and are located right where the good times happen.

The Bear Point has a longstanding tradition of good times and good friends. Stop in and see what all of the fun is about! Read on to see more about the Bear Point Yacht Club and Motel!

 Winter

Snowmobiling

Snowmobiling is a big tradition at Bear Point, and snowmobiling is spoken 365 days a year here.

In the winter, snowmobilers from all over stop here to visit. There is even a grooming fund donation box separated by snowmobile brands.

Check out our many winter events and rides. Hundreds of snowmobilers gather every year for Slug Feast (below) and our other events.

We are on the River Road Riders Snowmobile Trail, trails that many think are the finest anywhere.

State trails from our door take you to Marinette or north and west through Wausaukee, east to Crivitz, and into Marinette, Florence and Oconto Counties, or to the State of Michigan.

You can ride to almost anywhere in northern Wisconsin or the UP of Michigan from here.

 Summer

In the summer, enjoy a cool breeze and a cocktail with friends on our deck and watch the activities and wildlife on the river.

Enjoy Marinette County's largest body of water, the 84 miles of the Menominee River. The river is just a few steps from our back door. It is ideal for canoeing and fishing trophy sturgeon, lunker bass and record breaking walleye. Also, musky, Northern Pike, Perch, and Panfish abound on the river. It is one of the best kept secrets in Wisconsin fishing.

It is just a few short steps down to our dock right on the Menominee River. Stop in and say hello on your way by!

There is also a nice public boat landing 2 blocks away, so launching is never a problem.

Fall

Don't miss our Annual Sturgeon Contest running the first Saturday in September to November 1st. The Menominee River is the Hook & Line sturgeon fishing capital of Wisconsin!

Fall brings the Deer Hunting seasons, and all of the tradition that comes with it. There is also turkey hunting, grouse, duck, and other bird hunting, and the many other seasons fall has for hunters.

For those with an eye to the fall colors, this is a good area to visit. With the many species of hardwoods in the area forests, the colorful show runs from Mid-September to Mid-October, and something is always in full color.
